THE ADMINISTRATIVE IMPACT ON EDO BASIC EDUCATION TRANSFORMATION A CASE STUDY OF EDO BEST PROGRAM ON PRIMARY EDUCATION.

ABSTRACT

For the Obaseki-led Edo State Government, the education sector is one of the major force of development of any state and it was necessary to invest in it. Hence in 2018;, the Edo State Government launched the Edo Basic Education Sector Transformation which would serve as a starting point for continuous development in the sector throughout the state. The aim of this research study is to test the hypothesis that there is a relationship between the policies of Government and the level of Education in Edo State. Primary and secondary sources of data were used in collecting data which was analyzed using simple percentages and the hypothesis tested using chi – square statistical method at 0.05 level of significant for validity and to make final decisions. Findings show that the Edo Basic Education Sector Transformation (EDOBEST) has had a positive effect on the level and quality of education within the state. The researcher, in the final analysis drew a lasting conclusion, some of which are: there should be monitoring and ensuring compliance placed on the various school heads; that consistent review should be made into the administration of the program to observe areas for modification; lastly, Government must intensify efforts to train and retrain teaching staffs on the use of the EDOBEST tools.
