ABSTRACT Bentic organisms are living organisms that inhabit the sediments or substates at the bottom of aquatic ecosystem' such as oceans, lake, seas, streams and rivers. Bentic microinvertebrates. are particularly facinating subset of these bentic invertebrates. Characterized by thier lack of back bone. This study of macro invertebrates was carried out in eruvbi stream Benin City, Edo state Nigeria. Assessment was carried out in three stations from the period of March to may 2023. In this study, the results shows that some physiochemical parameters like air temperature (p>0.5), water temperature (p>0.5), depth range (p>0.5), Nitriate pH (p>0.5), conductivity(p>0.5), BOD (p>0.5), suspended solids (p<0.5), sulphate (p<0.5), Alkalinity (p<0.5). In this study 11 species were recognized. The others of organisms that were reco include the Dipteran, Odonata,, hermiptera, Decapoda, Architarnioglossa, Nadida and Haplotadrs. Most of these Macroinvertebrates were recognized in the month of April. These organisms contribute to stream ecosystem by serving as indicators of water quality, used in biomonitory programs and servsoas pery for larger organisms.
