ABSTRACT
That Tewfik Al-Hakim’s Fate of a Cockroach adopts the tenets of absurdism and the characters exhibit its philosophical doctrines is the standpoint which this research unfolds. Our primary focus, as mentioned earlier, is to explore how the absurdist elements encompass the meaninglessness of existence, the use of nonsensical and irrational dialogue, and the portrayal of exaggerated and unrealistic situations in the play. Thus, through textual analysis, this study concurs that Al-Hakim’s Fate of a Cockroach is a satirical and allegorical work that explores themes of human nature and society through the interactions of cockroaches and absurd human characters.
