ABSTRACT

The extract of Garlic was screened for its phytochemical composition. The solvents used for the leaves is methanol. The garlic was gotten and washed using distilled water and then cut into smaller piece to ease the drying process, it was then spread at room temperature to dry then later transferred into the dry air oven regulated to 50^OC for it to dry properly and make it cunchy. It was then pounded using mortar and pestle to make it into smaller piece, this was soaked using methanol and this extract was tested for its phytochemicals using standard methods. The result confirmed that presence of phytochemical which includes, alkaloids, cardiac glycoside, tannins, quinones and saponins in shade dried extract ofGarlic.
