ABSTRACT
This study comparatively analyzes the temporal and spatial trend in temperature within and between the states found in the guinea savanna region of Nigeria. The objectives of the study were to detect; the direction of temporal trend for the guinea savanna, the significance of the trend and the magnitude of the temperature trend in the Guinea savanna region of Nigeria. Temperature readings were collected for the climatic years 1951-1980 and 1981-2010. Analysis was carried out using Time series analysis, Student’s t-test and Pearson’s Correlation co-efficient. The study revealed that there is a relationship between the relief features of an area and the temperature trend. There was also spatial variation in these indicators across the different zones in the study area.
