ABSTRACT
This study investigated the influence of teachers’ awareness of educational laws on the effective teaching profession in public secondary schools in Egor Local Government Area of Edo State. To achieve the purpose of the study, four research questions were raised and examined. The sample size for the study was made up of 116 respondents randomly selected. The questionnaire was the instrument for data collection. The descriptive survey research design was adopted for the study. An analysis of data was done using frequency count and simple percentage. The findings from the study include that there is a high level of teachers’ awareness of educational laws in public secondary schools in Egor Local Government Area of Edo State. It was concluded that there is a great impact of teachers’ awareness of educational laws on effective teaching and learning in public secondary schools in Egor Local Government Area of Edo State. The study recommended that conducive environment should be provided by the government for efficient implementation of educational laws to enhance effective teaching. It was also recommended that efforts should be made by the principals and teachers to always ensure that there is continual implementation of educational laws so as to improve on the teaching and learning activities.
