ABSTRACT
The study investigated teacher’s attitude as correlates of children’s motivation and engagement in nursery schools in Oredo Local Government Area, Edo State. To guide this study, five research questions were raised.
The study adopted the descriptive survey research design. The population was made up of some teachers in public and private nursery schools in Oredo Local Government Area of Edo state. The sample size was 60 respondents selected through convenience sampling technique, and the instrument used in data collection was a questionnaire.
The data collected were analysed using mean, standard deviation for reasearch question 1,3 and 4, independent sample t-test was used for research question 2 and pearson product moment correlation coefficient was used for research question 5. Based on the findings, it was recommended, amongst others, It is recommended that The National Universities Commission (NUC) consider arranging workshops, seminars, and symposia for teachers and lecturers to better equip them for the responsibility of educating.
