ABSTRACT
The general objective of this study is to examine the subject- verb agreement that exist in Edo by looking at different ways where in they occur, such as: Agreement in gender, Agreement in number, Agreement in tense. The data for the study was gotten from competent native speakers of the Edo language and also from published texts abs literatures on the Edo language. The instrument used by the researcher to gather data consisted of writing notes and pen while the digital instrument was a digital voice recorder. The framework adopted was the Government and Binding theory which focuses on the analysis of language data devoid of theoretical formalism and notations. The research findings made mentions of some areas where in agreement in the Edo language grammar must be strictly adhered to in order to avoid ungrammatical grammar.
