ABSTRACT
This research work provides an in-depth classification, analysis and discussion of various stylistic features found in newspaper headlines. The purpose of this research work is to analyse the various stylistic features that are overt in newspapers. The features which include, lexical, syntactic and rhetoric features. To achieve the aims of this study, the newspaper researcher examined the style of presentations of headlines in terms of syntactic structure, the choice of lexical items employed and the rhetorical terms employed. The study revealed that there are different which writers approach and convey information to their target audience. The researcher recommends that researchers should do an investigation of the language used in newspaper headlines from a critical discourse perspective.
