A survey was carried out on the parasitic infection of the prawn Macrobrachium macrobrachion between the months of March and August 2018 with a view to identifying the parasites infecting the prawn. A total of 88 prawns were examined from Gbekoko River, Gbekoko community in Delta state. No parasite was found after examining the entire specimens during the period of the study. It was concluded that the result gotten was attributed or influenced by a number of factors such as season of sampling (e.g. relative rainfall), size of samples physicochemical parameters of the river, susceptibility of hosts population to infective agents, ecological or other conditions in the geographic location, age and sex of the host population.
