ABSTRACT
The purpose of the study is to examine the Status of School Health Services in Secondary schools in Edo State. So two of the research questions were raised to guide the study. The descriptive survey research design was adopted for the study. The population of the study is 18 local government areas .The Simple random technique was used to get the sample of school from both private and public secondary schools has equal chance to be selected .The instrument used for the study is the Questionnaire. The project supervisor and two lecturers in the department of Health, Safety and Environmental Education validated the questionnaire. The reliability method used is test and test method of reliability. The data collected was analyzed using descriptive statistics of frequency counts and percentage. The findings revealed that both types of schools does medical screening tests before admitting students, routines medical exams for staff and students and referrals to health centers or hospital Referrals; the presence of health rooms in more private schools than public schools and lastly, more private than public schools had first aid boxes ,with availability of essential drugs and materials in the schools .it was concluded that the government must also make available funds for the implementation of School Health Programme across all public schools in the state.
