ABSTRACT
This study focuses on how socio-economic and environmental factors contribute to infant mortality, using Anambra State as a case study where this research was carried out. The study was carried out in 14 sampled communities in 7 local Government out of 21 local Government of the state. The data collection instrument of this study was a well-structured question, which was used to collect information from the sampled population which are mother's whose ages ranges from 10 to 50 and above, whom have experienced infant mortality from 2019 to 2024. The demographic, socio-economic and environmental information of the mother's where use to analyze infant mortality rate and how it differs from each socioeconomic and environmental factor among these various mothers. Fisher's exact test was used to test the statistical significance of the data in the study, using 0.05 level of significance across all the groups. Conclusion of whether to accept or reject the null hypothesis was made depending on the level of significance found by the test statistic.
