ABSTRACT
Spatial variation exists across geographical regions on the perception and attitude towards family planning. The aim of this study is to examine the spatial variations in the perception and attitude towards family planning in Egor Local Government Area, Edo State. A closed ended questionnaire was designed to collect data from the target population of 400 reproductive married men and women. Also, twelve (12) health facilities were interviewed on the services rendered for family planning. The results were analysed using SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) and ArcGIS software in producing the map showing the study area. Logistic Regression Model was used to test the hypothesis. The study reveals that (83.5%) of respondents had the right perception of family planning. The common problems faced by couples/partners using family planning in the study area are cost, distance, family members and religion. This study recommends that though no family planning policy that exists today is perfect, but efforts to improve and enhance utilisation efficacy must be strengthened and prioritized, as global overpopulation is a looming problem.
