ABSTRACT
Water is vital for human existence and the maintenance of a healthy environment however its insuffiency will lead to the compromise of smooth running of the environment. The purpose the study is to investigate the socio-economic problems water scarcity pose on Egba community in uhunmwode local government area of Edo state.
The study was carried out with aid was questionnaire, personal observations and interview of residents of the community.
The findings of the research shows that there is no Governance, maintenance and water supply management in the community which leads to socio-economic problems of water scarcity on Egba community which include children missing school, Rape/sexual assault, presences of water related diseases, Reduced productivity etc.
Recommendations were made on measures that can be used to solved the problems of water scarcity the community
