SOCIO-ECONOMIC FACTORS AFFECTING THE ACCESS TO REPRODUCTIVE HEALTHCARE SERVICE, AMONG COUPLES IN OVIA NORTH EAST LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA OF EDO STATE NIGERIA.

ABSTRACT

The general objective of the study is to determine the socio-economic factor affecting the access to reproductive healthcare services, among couples in Ovia North East Local government Area and the specific objective is to know how cultural, religious, economic, and personal that affect the access to reproductive healthcare services. The study use exploratory research design and the data were shared among 100 respondents randomly selected from Oluku, Ovbiogie, and Isihor axis in Benin City Edo state. The findings of the study shows that there are several factors that affect the access to reproductive healthcare services and made epileptic in nature, it was found out that people especially couple are religiously and cultural heard back in terms of accessing reproductive healthcare services. More so, it was revealed that some of the core factors that have created a lacuna to the access of reproductive healthcare services are caused by personal decisions made by couples, and the inability for government to create better decisions that will improve the infrastructures of the of reproductive centres. Additionally, it was observed that most people would have love to always have access to reproductive healthcare services, but because they are financially constrain it has led to their wrong decisions, feeling it will amount to humiliations accessing healthcare services with no finance. To x these effect recommendations was duly presented to assist them from this decadent.
