ABSTRACT
The study examine the semiotic analysis of image advertising. The objective of the study was to analysis the use of images in advertising from a semiotic perspective, to identify the underlying meanings and to investigate how viewers interpret these images and their meanings. Data for this study was collected from advertisement posted online. Using semiotics theory, the work provides comprehensive understanding of the process through which signs generate meaning. The study encompasses diverse disciplines like marketing, psychology, sociology, and cultural studies, exploring the relationship between visual representations and meanings. The findings of this study revealed that images are used in advertising to communicate messages through visual, storytelling, capturing attention and conveying emotions, viewers interpret these images and their meanings through personal experiences, cultural background, and familiarity with visual language and the underlying meanings of images in advertisements can vary widely.
