ABSTRACT
This project work examines Nigeria’s Political and Socio-Economic unrest which is the result of ineffective governance and wide-spread corruption. It examines how Tanure Ojaide’s The Questioner and Other Poems and Kola Eke’s June 12 mock terrible leadership and its detrimental effect on the mission through the use of Satire. This work employs the qualitative research method wherein close consultation, textual extraction and analysis of the primary texts form the bedrock of my research. In this study, they demand a better Nigeria and alert readers to the enormous problem of nation building that all African countries but especially Nigeria face. Therefore, they urge everyone to accept accountability. It also discusses the literary devices and figures of speech used by both poets, to deliver their message.
