ROLE OF CLIMATE CHANGE ON FOOD SECURITY IN OVIA NORTH-EAST LGA, EDO STATE

ABSTRACT

This research looked at how food security was affected by climate change in Ovia North-East LGA, Edo State. To direct the investigation, three research questions were posed and addressed. Descriptive survey research design was used in the study, which entails gathering data from a target population. The people who live in Edo State, Nigeria's Egor Local Government Area make up the study's population. Proportional sampling was utilized to identify research participants, and a sample of 100 inhabitants was chosen for the investigation. The supervisor of the researcher and two additional specialists from the Department of Health, Safety, and Environmental Education verified a study instrument. The split-half technique of dependability was used to determine the instrument's reliability, and the results showed a coefficient of 0.826. The research results indicate that variations in weather patterns impact both the productivity of agricultural land and the availability of food.
