ABSTRACT

The relationship between reward systems and employee performance has been a subject of extensive research and debate in the field of organizational behavior. This abstract aims to provide an overview of the existing literature, theories, and empirical evidence regarding the impact of reward systems on employee performance. The primary focus is on extrinsic rewards, including monetary incentives, benefits, and recognition, and their influence on individual and organizational outcomes. Additionally, the abstract explores the complexities and nuances of designing effective reward systems that align with organizational goals and employee motivation. By synthesizing current knowledge, this abstract offers insights into the potential mechanisms through which reward systems can enhance employee performance and contribute to organizational success. This study was intended to examine the impact of reward system and performance in Seven up Bottling Company, Benin city Edo state. This study was guided by the following objectives; Extrinsic reward, Intrinsic reward and Employee performance. The study employed the descriptive and explanatory design; questionnaires in addition to library research were applied in order to collect data. Primary and secondary data sources were used and data was analyzed using the chi square statistical tool at 5% level of significance which was presented in viii frequency tables and percentage. The study findings revealed that there should be Moderate application of both intrinsic and extrinsic rewards systems in Seven-Up bottling company, there should be moderate levels of employees performance in the organisation, that there is Significant relationship between both intrinsic and extrinsic rewards systems on employees performance, that extrinsic motivation have the most (higher) impact on employees performance.
