ABSTRACT
The study examines the challenges pensioners face during payment of pension. Civil service is often regarded as a place workers put number of years to work particularly their active years and are retired at old age with the social security when they cannot work again. In Africa and Nigeria in particular, the system appears to operate in a faulty ground as the purpose is most time not met because some retirees have been seen to suffer hardship and some die at the point of accessing their fund.
