ABSTRACT
This research work focuses on radical feminism as a type of feminist movement which came into existence as a result of the domination of the female gender by the male gender. Over the years, this movement has relentlessly fought to ensure that women are freed from the shackles of male domination as a lot of studies have shown and proven that patriarchy has subjected to a lot of harsh treatment which has scathed them greatly in the society. Men are naturally supposed to be the protectors of women because of their docile nature but instead, they have used their masculinity as an advantage over women and gone as far as seizing their rights and subjecting them to undue suffering in the society, most especially, in the African society.
This study goes as far as showing how Literature has been used as a tool by the African female writers to promote radical feminism. Although, most of them have not attested to being radical feminists and may have also denied it at one probing or the other, but analysis on their works have proven that they definitely are in support of the movement. This work is not an attempt in any way to prove who is and who is not a radical feminist, but its aim is to bring the sufferings of the African woman in a patriarchal society to light and their survival journey to freedom at last.
