Abstract

The objective of the study is to examine public procurement practices and organisational performance at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital. Survey research design is used through the distribution of copies of the questionnaire to respondents at UBTH. The collected data are analysed using ordinary least square (OLS) regression. First, the results show a positive and significant relationship between procurement planning and organisational performance. Second, the results show a positive and significant relationship between procurement control and organisational performance. Finally, the result shows a negative and significant relationship between procurement monitoring and organisational performance. Planning effectively is the corner stone of how procurement practices are implemented inside the firm. The institution maybe certain of raising its performance level in terms of the quality of the given goods and services as well on-time delivery through efficient procurement planning. In order to raise the university’s performance level, the procurement procedures, procurement monitoring, and procurement controls should all be carefully assessed. The study’s findings are highly valuable to academics and researchers because they address.
