ABSTRACT

The study aims to provide solutions to improve the reputation of Nigeria and its states. The study focuses on the Oredo Local Government to explore how residents perceive Nigeria's rebranding program and its impact on their attitudes towards the country. It investigates the factors that shape public perception, including exposure to rebranding messages, personal experiences, cultural influences, and media coverage. The study also assesses the effectiveness of the communication strategies employed in the rebranding program within the local government. It has been clearly stated that public relations is essential for local governments to survive and thrive. This research project aims to uncover how the public perceives the rebranding efforts in Nigeria and to explore why these efforts have not improved Nigeria's image both locally and internationally. By understanding the public perception of Nigeria's rebranding program within the Oredo Local Government, policymakers and communication professionals can make informed decisions to refine and enhance the program's effectiveness.
