ABSTRACT

Using enhanced solution growth method (SGT) in 0.12 mole/dm2 bath concentrations for 12, 18, 24, 30, and 36 hours at room temperature of 27°C, thin films of Tin (IV) oxide (SnO2) were successfully produced on glass slides. While calculations based on theory were utilised to determine the various optical and solid state parameters of the films, the spectra absorbance data were collected using a 180+ UV/VIS Double beam spectrophotometer. It has been noted that the films have n>1.9; hence, they may find utility in the building of poultry houses, solar cells, and anti-dazzling coatings, among other things.

The deposited thin films with band gaps (Eg) within the electromagnetic spectrum's light energy range (1.5-3.0 eV) may be used in solar electricity to electrify rural areas and raise living standards system for remote monitoring and control and communication.
