ABSTRACT
The study on the problems and prospects of Cooperative Development in Nigeria, was undertaken to achieve a number of objectives, including the need to assess the immediate factors affecting the performance of cooperative in Kaduna State. To achieve the set objectives, the researcher reviewed related literatures on the subject matter and also elated data, and by questionnaires. Based on the data cooperative federation is duty bound to promote cooperatives. It was recommended that mandatory training in cooperative should be given to the officials of the state cooperative federation. The research concluded that the stale cooperative federation play a vital role in the promotion of cooperative movement.
