Abstract
Eyelash extension has become common practice for enhancing beauty among the female population on occasions such as weddings, festivities and social gatherings. Eyelash extension and strips can predispose females who make use of it to serious ocular injuries. The eye is a very important but delicate organ of the body; therefore it needs to be well protected to maintain one's sight. Ocular problems such as itching, tearing, foreign body sensation, redness, burning sensation, swollen eyelids etc, have been reported as a result of use of eyelash extensions and strips. The glues used in the attachment of eyelash extensions could result in Keratoconjunctivitis and allergic blepharitis in which formaldehyde is the major constituent of all the glues which can cause keratoconjunctivitis. It is important to know the detrimental effects it poses to vision and the need to apply caution when using it.
