Health is the most precious of all things and the foundation of all happiness. Traditional medicine has developed in various communities in Nigeria in response to public health needs. Since its inception, many communities have developed a variety of traditional systems that use locally available resources to address their health problems. Traditional is medicine as old as the hills in Nigeria. The development of traditional medicine in Nigeria has led to the emergence of various categories of healers, various healing methods, strategies and medicines that are known today (Abodunrin, Omojasola and Rojugbokan, 2011).

The British colonial masters introduced the orthodox medicine, and today there are two medical systems in this country. Both have a primary goal of treating, preventing disease and maintaining good health (Omogbadegun and Adegboyega, 2013).
