ABSTRACT
The study investigated the prevalence of bullying among secondary school students
in Egor Local Government Area of Edo State. To achieve the purpose of the study, three
research questions were raised and answered.
The descriptive survey research method was adopted for the study. The sample size
for the study was made up of 200 students. The instrument used for the data collection was
a structured questionnaire titled “Bullying among Secondary School Students
Questionnaire”. In analyzing the data, the researcher made use of frequency count and
percentages to compute the findings from the research
The findings from the study include that there is high prevalence rate of bullying
among secondary school students in Egor Local Government Area of Edo State. It was
concluded that the most prevalent form of bullying among secondary school students in
Egor Local Government Area of Edo State is verbal bullying. The study recommended
among others that secondary schools in Egor Local Government Area should establish and
enforce comprehensive anti-bullying policies that specifically address verbal, physical, and
emotional bullying. These policies should clearly outline consequences for bullying
behaviour and ensure consistent enforcement to deter such acts
