This study was carried out to investigate the incidence of multiple births and evaluate the factors relating to maternal and fetal health outcomes in Multiple Birth. Records of multiple birth were collected from Saint Philomena Catholic Mission Hospital using only Twin pregnancy as a case of study.
The total of 204 cases were collected and analysed using the SPSS software package. The determinant factors affecting bigger maternal and fetal health outcomes were examined using the multinomial logistic regression test.
The result indicated that the maternal age, mode of delivery, and antenatal booking had an effect on maternal health outcomes. Mode of delivery, gestational age, antenatal booking also had effect on fetal health outcomes.
Futher analysis were carried out to determine if there was a relationship between the birth weights of the twin delivered using the chi square test of independence and the result indicated that there was no relationship between the weights.
