SUMMARY

      This chapter as stated above, will concerns with summary of the findings of the entire research and make conclusions based on the findings. This research was aimed at finding out the nature conflict and conflict resolution in pre-colonial Igbanke with particular reference to the political, social, economic institutions of Igbanke. For proper understanding of the problem of study, historical method was adopted.

            Chapter two carry out an in-depth analysis on the historical background of Igbanke people. In pre-colonial Igbanke, there were several platforms established to prevent crisis and for resolution of disagreement even after they might have broken out.

The study examined the brief history of the socio-economic and political institutions of Igbanke people. It provided a background to the historical origin, revealing the possible reasons for the migration story. However, it maintained that, the traditions of origins of Igbanke People like that of other societies a recurrent theme in Nigerian history. It is an issue which touches the very foundation of the group identity of a people. This is especially so in a plural society like Nigeria with many central tendencies and in which access to limited resources, political offices and employment opportunities is largely determined by ethnicity.
