ABSTRACT
Water pollution studies of some water bodies in Lagos State was carried out between January 2024 to April 2024. Water samples and Phytoplankton samples were collected from fourteen water bodies and assessed for phytoplankton and physiochemical analyses. The pollution status of the water bodies was analyzed for the determination of its suitability for human consumption and accommodation of aquatic life. The highest number of phytoplankton species was recorded in Odo Kabiru and the lowest ess recorded in Anthony river and Landmark beach. Using Palmer's pollution Index out of 20 genera of algae species that indicated organic pollution, only 6 genera were found present.
