This essay has demonstrated the political revolution by Odia Ofeimun’s in “The Poet Lied and other poems”. The main focus has been on how Ofeimun uses metaphor, irony, sarcasm and the use of symbolism in carrying out his revolution. Odia Ofeimun represent a generation of African writers and the new Nigeria poetic tradition, who take delight in Mass participation in their poetry. He is the “people’s poet, his works does not involve merely the analysis of the poetry of the second generation poet in Nigeria, it is more concerned with the application of social meaning in Nigeria political environment. He rejects corrupt political system resulting in economic depression, social injustice and the oppression of the poor masses.
