ABSTRACT

This research titled “Pluralization in Enuani dialect uses the Enuani dialect of Igbo as a case study to realize how plural is derived in the language. This work would help to give more attention to the Enuani dialect which is not a standard dialect of Igbo. It has experienced less attention.

In this work, it has attempted in bringing out the derivation of plural words. Data were been analysed based on the operation of the minimalist program. Plural formation in Enuani dialect includes merging of singular nouns with plural words or morpheme.

The study concludes that the Enuani dialect mark plural by plural marker and numeration. This dialect mark plural syntactically by the addition of independent morpheme. Pluralization affects nouns, pronouns and verbs which is used in this study of Enuani dialect.
