The Aim of this sturdy is to investigate the phytochemical composition and Antioxidant activities of the methanolic plant extract of Ipomea aquatica and Mitracarpus villosus. The concentrated extract were analysed using Gas Chromatography Mass Spectroscopy (GCMS) and UV/Visible Spectrophotometer techniques to quantitatively determine the constituents in the extracts. Eighteen compounds were identified in the GC - MS analysis of methanolic extract of Ipomea aquatica and Mitracarpus villosus with Oleic acid (11.34% peak area, Molecular formula; C18H34O2 and Retention Time 8.86 minutes),as the most dominant in the extract, having the ability to prevent heart diseases and reducing cholesterol,its also prevents cancer and other conditions in Ipomea aquatica while for Mitracarpu villosus nhexadecanoic acid (12.31% peak area, Molecular formula C10H16 Retention Time 7.25minutes) having the highest concentration in the extract and designing of specific inhibitors of phospolipase and anti inflammatory agents. The primary Phytochemical analysis of the plants extracts showed the presence of various secondary metabolites; Alkaloids, Flavonoids, Tannins, saponins, and Phenolics compound. The presence of these phytochemical constituents justifies the use of this plan for the treatment of various ailments and traditional practitioners.
