ABSTRACT
Immorality! Immorality! Immorality! Immorality as it is observable everywhere, is increasingly on the decay due to the fact that it has become a rampant attitude portrayed by almost every individual in the country. Immorality has gone far in infesting the lives of our quotable 'leaders of tomorrow" and like a rotten fish, it stinks in our nation today, hence the Nigerian society is chaotic. Nigeria has sunk from the era of moral dilemma to a low level phase of moral insensitivity. The issue of moral decadent in our society arouses concerns, thus the need to be looked into. Many things have gone wrong, since no one sees rationale or more so reason to be upright in action at all times, in all places and in all circumstances. The continuing degeneration of personal virtue among Nigerians seems to be emerging as the single-most urgent issue of our time. This project is meant not only to articulate the depth of moral challenge facing Nigeria, but also to propose that any useful solution to the infamy must emerge from the bottom (the mass of ordinary citizens) down to the top echelon of leadership. Thus the analytical/theoretical methodology is employed to facilitate this goal. In the end, it is suggested that citizens should not be disillusioned by the complexity of immorality bedeviling the nation, but howbeit all hands should be on deck as the freedom of this country from the chains of immorality isn't a fight by just one single Nigerian, but one for all Nigerians. Hence Government must come up with a National Philosophy that would be embedded in our educational system which would be taught from toddler stage to the highest level of learning in our country in a bid to get our young ones re-oriented in the right values.
