PHILOSOPHICAL EXPOSITION OF GOD'S EXISTENCE AND THE PROBLEM OF EVIL

ABSTRACT

This research work was carried out to study the philosophical exposition of God's existence and the problem of evil, from ancient times till date the problem of evil and of God's existence still puzzle the mind of lot of individuals, and has even made lot of them denying God's existence because they have the common believe that good things come with God ,so the existence of evil has made some individuals atheism and concluded that there is no God, if God is benevolence (all good) omnipotent (all powerful) and he present everywhere and he knows what will happen before it happens then if he knows evil and the consequences of evil why then did he allow it in the world? as said that he is powerful and powerful enough to stop evil. if God created everything in the universe does that mean he created evil? Why did he allow evil in the world ,suffering, poverty, hardship, people losing their loved ones especially those considered as good people, why didn't God stop evil if he have the power to do so?. Many philosophers has try to assert the blame from God that evil is not a thing and was not created that evil is a privation of being, others said evil is a as a result of God divine purpose in order to win souls to make heaven, a scholar said evil is as result of mankind original sin that is the sin of our first parents" Adam and Eve" a philosopher suggested that for God to erase or eradicate evil in the world means to erase all human race because everyone in the world has committed evil one way or the other ,there is nothing like small or big evil ,so if saying God should erase evil means God should erase the entire race ,many philosophers have attempted to reconciled the problem of evil with the problem of God's existence.
