ABSTRACT
This study was carried in the University of Benin Teaching and Research Farm, Benin City using New Zealand, Dutch, Hyla and Chinchila breed of rabbits where about 15 does were mated and result recorded on the first parity. The same number of females were used in the second parity. This study was carried out to evaluate the performance characteristics of rabbit litters from their different parities. Data collected includes the weight of the doe at mating, the weight of the at kindling, the average weaning weight of the kits, average weight of the kits at birth, parity number, litter size at birth and litter size at weaning. The 2nd parity produced the highest litter size at birth and the highest litter size at weaning compared to the 1 st parity.
