ABSRACT
The study examined the perception of cultural and creative arts among junior secondary schools in Oredo local government of Edo state Benin City. To guide the study, four research questions were raised.
The survey research design was used for this research work. four research questions were raised to guide the study. Questionnaire was designed and used for data collection. A total of one hundred (100) respondents were used in the study. The simple percentage was used for analyzing data obtained from the study.
Based on the findings made, it was discovered that a lot of factors influence the perception of cultural and creative arts among junior secondary school students in Oredo local government which include students interest, parental influence ,misconceptions, teachers interest, personal interests and high cost of art materials and the possible solutions to counter them which are encouragement from the parents, employment of skilled cultural and creative teacher, provision of materials from government and seminars for possible exposure for both parents and students at large.
