ABSTRACT
Despite the awareness of infertility and the advancement in technology, there is still high rate of infertility among couples in Nigeria, Which has the potentials of threatening the stability of marriages. Therefore, the study focused on the impact of Invitro-Fertilization on marital stability.
The study employed a cross sectional research design with the use of a structured questionnaire and the use of in-depth interview guide. Multi stage sampling techniques was adopted in selecting the respondents. Data for the study were analyzed using descriptive statistics.
Results from the study shows that Invitro-Fertilization has offered hope to infertile couples and made couples achieve their dream of parenting, it has also reduced divorce. However, the knowledge and utilization of Invitro- Fertilization is low. It is therefore recommended that there is need to create awareness about IVF treatment and its availability to enhance its utilization by infertile couples.
