PERCEPTION OF SEXUAL BEHAVIORS AND SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED INFECTIONS AMONG FEMALE UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS (A CASE STUDY OF THE FACULTY OF SOCIAL SCIENCES, UNIVERSITY OF BENIN)

ABSTRACT

This study examines the perception of sexual behaviors and sexually transmitted infections (STIs) among female undergraduate students. The study aims to explore the perceptions of sexual behavior and sexually transmitted infections (STIs) among female undergraduate students. It explores the knowledge, attitudes, and practices related to sexual health among this population. Promiscuity is culturally determined concept but it is defined according to the Webster Dictionary as: including not only frequent but "Indiscriminate" sexual behavior. In Women, promiscuity indicates a possible compulsive, excessive sexual behavior referred to as nymphomania. The study aims to understand how female undergraduate students perceive and respond to STIs and sexual behaviors, and to identify potential areas for intervention and education. The results of this study can inform future efforts to improve sexual health among female undergraduate students
