PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT AND EMOTIONAL SUPPORT ON PRESCHOOLERS, THE CASE STUDY OF PRE-PRIMARY SCHOOL CHILDREN IN OREDO LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA, EDO STATE

ABSTRACT

This project takes a critical look at "Parental Involvement and Emotional Support on preschooler the case study of pre-primary school children in Oredo Local Government Area, Edo State". In order to carry out this study, four(4) research questions were raised as a guide for the study: To what extent does parental involvement in a child's preschool education impact their emotional well-being?; What are the specific ways in which parents can provide emotional support to their preschoolers? ;To what extent does the level of parental involvement and emotional support vary across different cultural backgrounds? ;To what extent can preschool programs effectively engage parents in supporting their child's emotional needs? The research method employed for this study was the descriptive survey method and sampled to pre primary schools in Oredo Local Government Area. Based on the findings of this study, it is seen that Parental Involvement and Emotional Support on Preschoolers have a great influence on the child's academic performance in school, this study shows that the level of a child's parental involvement goes a long way in boosting the child's level of concentration and good response in class. Based on the findings, the following recommendations were made; No Matter the socio economic status of parents, parents should ensure that they show interest in their children's academic activities. Engage in activities that promote their social, emotional, and cognitive development, like reading together or playing educational games. Maintaining open communication with your child's teachers can help you stay informed about their progress and provide any additional support they may need. Providing unbiased support, guidance, and recommendations to increase physical activity in adolescents is essential for parental involvement. To encourage parental involvement in preschool education, educators can invite parents to participate in classroom activities, incorporate parent suggestions into the teaching styles and provide resources for further skill development at home. Every school should encourage active Parent's Teachers Association (P.T.A) to enhance communication flow between teachers, parents and management.
