ABSTRACT
This study investigated parental influence on career choice of Adolescents in Oshimili South Local Government Area of Delta State. The sample comprised of 250 students randomly selected from five Secondary Schools in Oshimili South Local Government Area of Delta State. A Self-structured questionnaire was constructed for each respondent by the researcher and administered to elicit responses from the respondents. From the analysis of the data collected, the findings of the study shows that parents’ have significant influence on the career choice of their wards. The study reveals that parents level of education, socio-economic status and occupational background significantly influence Adolescents career choice. Based on the findings, some recommendations were made and it was concluded that parents should guide and educate their children in making informed career decisions rather than imposing their own preferred career choice.
