ABSTRACT
The Photovoltaic panel demand for the prediction of operational performance necessitated this project work study .This project work is to determine the effect of shading, temperature ,orientation and optimal tilt angle of Ugbowo Campus, Benin-city and evaluating the life cycle cost, economic viability, rate of return and performance efficiency of the two panel. This work was carried out with two 300Watts, 24Volts Monocrystalline panels, Multimeter to measure current and voltage and thermometers for measuring temperature. The experimental Photovoltaic panels were placed at different tilt angle of 16o, 18o,23o on the ground for period of three weeks for each conditions. The results showed that shading has adverse effects on output, temperature remains constant and did not exceeds 44oC and corresponding decrease the output and the performance of the panels reveals reliable for efficient supply of power to the expected proposed loads estimated. The panels were found efficient for off-grid temperate regions. Keywords: Photovoltaic panels, tilt angle, shading, temperature, life cycle cost
