ABSTRACT
This study was carried out to make a contribution in the syntactic aspect of Ukwuani. The aim was to improve on the linguistic study of Ukwuani by identifying how the Noun Phrases of Ukwuani are derived/formed. These include the Noun (N), Noun+Det, NP (becomes sign) {Numerals/Numbers/Pronoun/Interrogative (+WH)}, Noun with dependents/modifiers, Noun+Mordifiers+Det, Plural makers, Noun with quantifiers, Noun with numerals, Noun qualifying other nouns, other syntactic category functioning as Noun/Np and Complex Noun Phrases in Ukwuani.
