ABSTRACT
This research looks upon nominal modifiers in the Edo language, an important language spoken in Nigeria. Nominal modifiers have an important role in Edo grammar, altering the meaning and structure of noun phrases. The study investigates the syntactic and semantic features of numerous types of nominal modifiers in the language, such as adjectives, possessives, demonstratives, and quantifiers. This study uses textual analysis and linguistic theory to provide a comprehensive explanation of nominal modification in Edo, provide insight on its typological traits, and implications for linguistic theory and language documentation initiatives. In addition, the paper explores the socio-cultural significance of nominal modifiers in Edo discourse, as well as their role in articulating ideas like possession, definiteness, and specificity. Overall, this work adds to the greater field.
