ABSTRACT
The general objective of this study is to examine the use of narratives in teaching changes in Nollywood – its movies and character that are portrayed in films, its production process and its impact on viewership. The popularity of Nollywood movies continue to cut across all barriers reaching ordinary people all over the world, but many have criticized Nollywood movies for its storytelling techniques thus it continues to suffer negative image in the comity of nations and critics kept crying foul over the influence it has on its viewers. To this end, this study employs a case reference analysis method, detailed literature review, content analysis of selected films, and survey of selected viewers, purposively selected for the performance of this task. Therefore, this study specifically focuses on the various elements that would help the reader understand the various lessons of change Nollywood movies has on its viewership.
