SUMMARY
This research work examined the concept of foreign policy and how it had influenced Nigeria's diplomatic relations with the United States since Independence with the Muhammadu Buhari's administration 2015-2019 been its main focus, it examined the nature and operational mode of the Nigeria-United States bilateral relations and outlined the various activities both countries carried out in terms of economic transaction, trade and investment, security and defense, efforts in combating terrorism as well as other political and socio-cultural problems in Nigeria. It went further to examine and evaluate the achievement and impact of the Nigeria-United States bilateral relations especially as it relates to socio-economic institutions of both countries, the fight against Boko Haram insurgency and the sustenance of democracy and freedom of challenges. It also examined the challenges of Buhari government with particular reference to the Nigeria-Unite States diplomatic relations.
