Abstract
The Nigerian Pidgin is a language of diverse culture and ethnic background in Nigeria. It is termed “a language for all” as speakers of it cut across people from all over Nigeria. It is very flexible to change, as new words are being added into its lexicography from time to time. The Nigeria Pidgin can be said to be a variety of pidgin, which is a language brought about by contact with the colonial masters in the colonial eras since them, it has gone through an evolution, bringing it at par with the “Almighty” English language.
This brings us to the crux of this work. Nigeria pidgin English has come to be used not lost as a language of “flippancy” or language of informal occasions, but it being used in political discourses and this has contributed greatly to its recognition (although unofficially) as a language, although it has not been graced with the opportunity of becoming Nigeria’s official language.
Nevertheless, Using ITV’s radio program “Man Around Town” we explore the dynamism and relative growth if the Nigeria pidgin English, talking cognizance of its relevancy and its role in the media and also in the political field as it is used to analyze basic social, economic, political and health issue facing the country. It is hoped that this study will bring about an offenses in the mind of the readers of this work, i.e readers of the work will be able to certify the growth tool of communication is political dialogues and lastly, as a bridge to accessing humanity, irrespective of social class and social stratification
