ABSTRACT
This work examines and documents the morphological processes in Ngor-Okpala dialect of Igbo. The data that was used in carrying out this research was gotten from the native speaker of the dialect .The tools used for the collecting of data are; word list(Ibadan 400 word list) and audio recorder which was used to get audio data. The lexeme based morphology was the theoretical framework adopted for the analysis of the data. Ngor-Okpala has various word structures or forms under different morphological processes. In the dialect, affixation, reduplication, back formation, conversion and compounding are available but compounding is commonly used. Under affixation, the second/i/ as a prefix is use in Ngor-Okpala as the second person pronoun ’you’as in English and also as infinitive. Also in the dialect, the plurality of a noun is done by the addition of a prefix ’igba’ or ‘umu’ which are free morphemes unlike that of English which is a bound morpheme‘s’.
