ABSTRACT
This research examines the morphological process of compounding within the Emevor dialect. It aims to understand how compound words are formed and structured in Emevor,a dialect spoken in Nigeria. Using a range of methods including linguistic analysis, native speaker consultations and corpus linguistics. The research also unveils the underlying patterns and principles governing compounding in Emevor and also categorizing compound words into different types such as exocentric, endocentric, and coordinate compounds. Additionally, it investigates the syntactic and semantic relationship between the elements within these compound words. From the findings, this study indicate that Emevor dialect utilizes compounding as a way to incorporate new words into its vocabulary. Finally,the study also reveals that Emevor 's vocabulary includes compound words structured in various forms beyond the primary ones including Noun +Noun, Verb + Verb, and Verb + Noun.
